The Palatine Pirates will face off tomorrow against the Glenbard West Hilltoppers. Palatine is 8-2 while opponent Glenbard is 10-0. The much-anticipated match up will take place at Palatine, Saturday Nov 8 at 2 p.m. Glenbard beat Fremd last week a brutal 34-14.

Palatine, however, is coming off a huge high from last week’s victory over Huntley, score 39-17. Even though the Glenbard team is undefeated, Palatine isn’t focusing on that. They enjoy being the underdog; the team won big after a predicted loss to Huntley.

When asked what their plan is for the game, senior defensive end Waylan Washington said, “Every team in the playoffs is good. We just have to come out seriously and play from first quarter to fourth quarter.”

Glenbard has in its arsenal a top-notch defensive line. Players say they’ve been scheming hard for this game to come out with new ways to win. In last week’s match up the Palatine offense was slow to start, but finished strong. Quarterback Nick Orlando (15) brought to the table 288 passing yards and 46 on the ground. This week the Pirates also have running back Cam Cornelius (15) back in play.

Washington said, “The way we see it, records don’t mean anything. Both sides of the ball are very well prepared for tomorrow, we’re excited for the game we just want fans to come out and see what happens.”

The game will take place tomorrow at Palatine at 2 p.m. The game is also in the midst of Palatine’s annual craft fair, so be sure to get there early if you want a parking spot. Good luck and go pirates!
