Yesterday, CBS reporters toured Palatine High School as part of their weekly “School Spotlight” program, which highlights various schools in the Chicagoland area.
Starting the day off early in the morning, CBS featured the school band and cheerleaders as they kicked off the day by performing music and showing off their Palatine spirit.
Reporters visited the Project Excel program, which is designed to help first-generation college-bound students through a support system, making it easier to navigate rigorous coursework and college applications.
They also visited the Special Education department, highlighting the unique “Best Buddies” program designed to foster inclusion across the community.
Later on, reporters covered Palatine High School’s athletics, stopping by the boys’ water polo game against Barrington High School, and interviewing PHS basketball coach Eric Millstone on their achievement of making it to state for the first time in school history.
CBS placed a heavy focus on Palatine’s over 80 different clubs and activities, featuring the badminton team and the Association of Black Leaders organization.
