There are many ways to describe the recent autumn season. When you think about plans for the season, you might hear about fruitful ideas such as visiting a pumpkin patch or reuniting with relatives who live far away. How often have you heard about the sweetness of the cool wind, fall-themed desserts and drinks, and colorful leaves? I talked with many of my lunch buddies to talk about the best of this year’s fall frenzy.
“I’m just playing soccer and hanging out with my friends,” said sophomore Keira McPartlin.
Sophia Vrbancic, also a sophomore, said, “I really like the weather and the color of the leaves.”
They are painting a picture of the nice activities and themes of the season. Can you imagine the beauty of the trees painted gold and red and the chilly air blowing gently at you? I personally don’t play any fall sports, but I do a lot of activities, one of which involves capturing the moments and colors of these trees. It is, after all, a golden time to go outside and have fun.
“I like to go apple picking with my family,” added Vrbancic.
Of course, food is also part of the sweetness of fall. Treats are delicious in the fall. “I think people should go out baking because it’s a fun activity,” said sophomore Aubrey Deluga. She also mentioned that she enjoys pumpkin pie, while McPartlin mentioned that she enjoys Starbucks’ Pumpkin Chai Latte.”
Sophomore Emersyn Kelly said, “I think the best activity is to go to movies.”
I agree that this is a great idea. While most of us now hold our sources of entertainment in our hands, it’s nice to turn the phone off, communicate in person, and do activities our parents would most likely do back in their day, such as going to the movies.
Some people enjoy this season because of the numerous festivities that take place and that fall leads up to
“I like fall because I love Halloween and I think it’s very festive,” said sophomore Isabella Borissova. “Fall leads into Thanksgiving which leads to Christmas, which is a great holiday too.”
When it comes to maintaining your high school experience, fall might be the best season. You have time to be involved at home, in school, and the community, and also focus on your well-being.
In winter and spring, things get busy with more challenging topics and extra activities. However, in early fall, you have enough time to relax and enjoy life, as the weather is usually comfortable.
The rest of the season is all about the holidays.
Overall, fall is quite the season for good times, especially for me and my friends. You get several last days of warm-to-fair weather. It’s a great time to spend time with family and friends, and the landscape is beautiful. I’m sure you have several plans for the season, too.
Make sure to make the best out of the golden season, cause once this and the holiday season are over, it’s bound to get cold here.
