The Palatine High School varsity soccer team couldn’t have asked for a better start to its season, dominating the Mundelein Mustangs in a 7-0 victory Wednesday night. The Pirates showed that they are ready for a season full of energy and success.
This summer, the team went through an intense training program led by head coach Aaron Morris. The benefits already showed in the opener, with players full of confidence and stronger team chemistry.
“This year’s roster has a good mix at varsity, about 12 guys with varsity experience and 10 new players who are getting their feet wet,” Morris said.
The players are motivated to win more games and bring home trophies. Morris agreed the team needs to work on “passing and coordination” but said he is confident the Pirates “should be lifting some trophies this year.”
“The team has a lot of talent and knows how to work together,” team captain Erick Guerrero said.
This emphatic victory set a high bar for the rest of the season and fueled excitement among the Palatine community. With confidence running high, the Pirates are ready to carry their momentum into the next match and prove they are serious contenders this season.
