Palatine high school girls bowling team has recently won an award for their last tournament at Plainfield Strikefest. The varsity girls came in 1st place for their division out of 35-40 teams at the tournament.
Kiki Gaiter, junior, bowled with varsity for the first time at this tournament. Her highest amount of pins knocked down in one game was a strong score of 170 pins.
Gaiter said, “It was amazing. It was amazing because it was a tournament where colleges scouted at. So they had the tournament really well planned out.”

Brianna Marshall, junior, also bowled with varsity. But it wasn’t her first time. Her highest score of the day was 179 pins knocked down.

Marshal said, “Playing on varsity was tough because it was a lot of pressure than JV. They expect you to get a strike or spare every time, and if you don’t your spot on varsity could be taken away.”
Coach Johnny Burke was a very proud coach that day.

Coach Burke said, “They were competing and it was fun for me to watch. I was very proud of them because they played great and came together as a team and was very successful!”
As the bowling season is coming to an end, all the girls have grown and  have become better bowlers than they were on day one.
