Classic movie review: Grease!
January 19, 2017
Grease directed by Randal Kleisser is an amazing musical, the time of the year it’s taking place in 1950 demonstrating how the clothing, schools, and how teenagers acted back in the days. Starting off with Sandy Olsson (real name) and Danny Zuko (John Trivolta) saying their goodbye for the summer because their “Summer Loving” is over with.
Danny discovers Sandy did not go back to Australia was a bit of a shock and exciting but having to continue the “bad boy” act for his friends ruined it for both Sandy and himself. Following Danny trying to be athletic to prove he’s something else besides a greaser to Sandy. Later on Danny tried to make things better between the both of them, he took her out on a date to the dinner but having his group of friends interrupt creating a bad mood. Danny then ruining it once again by trying to sleep with her knowing she’s pure and rather keep it that way.
The audience the film targets the most is teenagers. Teenagers would appeal more to the staying out all night with their friends doing no good, school dances, dropping out, carnivals, etc. The movie takes place mainly in school grounds and that’s something teenagers can relate the most to because a good chunk of teenagers stay in school for the longest time ever.
The main actors are John Trivolta and Olivia Newton-John, they create a beautiful love story, just like other love stories they have a bunch of bumps in the road before their happily ever after. The message of the story would probably be love and be happy even when you do wrong, the actors did great in every single scene.
Music to the film are pretty catchy, the producer did a pretty darn good job because until this day the film has been a hit.
As I’ve said before the message to the film would be be happy and love even when you’re wrong, the film has proven this throughout the entire conflict of Sandy and Danny’s love story.
Personally I love the movie, I’ve watched it over 50 times throughout my lifetime. Sadys my favorite because she starts off innocent and and not wanting to be with Danny but turns out he’s the one.
