Gabby Pomplun

Gabby Pomplun, Reporter

Gabby Pomplun is a sophomore at Palatine High School. Pomplun signed up for journalism because she enjoyed writing and hopes to learn more about the class. In the future Pomplun hopes to be able to visit Bali, Colorado or Hawaii. Pomplun is passionate about weightlifting, sports and plans to be a part of a yoga club. Outside of school Pomplun plays basketball and is a part of the team at PHS.

Charles Whitaker, the dean at Northwestern Medill, opens the event by stating how important journalism is. "You know, we are in a horrible situation right now, where people get to burrow unto their own echo chambers and cling to information that may not be factual, but because it confirms their belief system. That's not good for the democracy."
