Varsity boys basketball and the Palatine High School pep band had the annual senior’s night on Feb 10, 2017.

Drum major of two years, Meghan Woell lead the band through the Star Spangled Banner.

“I feel very accomplished.” Woell said. “It’s been an amazing two years of leading the band and I wouldn’t change a thing about it. I’m extremely saddened that my drum major career is almost over, but I have loved every single second of being in this leadership role.”

Though the basketball team lost, 44 to 50 against the Conant Cougars it was not a loss for the seniors. The basketball team gave the seniors one last game to remember by giving time to bond with the newly inducted freshman, as well as the sophomores and juniors they’ve grown to bond with.

To close the night off, the drumline of “the best pep band in the land” ended with the beloved Heavy Metal. The band students ranging from freshmen to seniors gathered on the gym floor to dance along.

From a year and a half of dancing in sync has paid off, leading to choreographed dances for each section of Heavy Metal.
