As a 14-year-old writer right now, I’ve already accomplished my very first book. I’m proud of my book even if there are some mistakes, which is OK because it’s the very, very beginning of my dream. My first book is called “Master of Puppets.” Since 2019, I was 8-9 years old and making up random and quick stories. Surprisingly the quick short stories I came up with were scary stories. I was inspired by movies like “Coraline,” “IT Chapter One,” “The Conjuring,” “Annabelle,” “Ghost Face,” and more. I also watched action movies with superheroes like Marvel and DC.
When I was 6-7, I got scared from “IT Chapter One.” I didn’t like the clown’s face, and it scared me to the point where I started yelling for my mom in the middle of night. “The Conjuring” also scared me and my mom. But this time it was her waking up in the middle of the night and not being able to sleep. I was around 2-3 when I watched “Coraline.” With this movie, I didn’t get scared; instead, I found it cool. My mom would always tell me how I would repeatedly put in the “Coraline” movie disc in to watch it all over again as a toddler.
Although horror movies scared me so much, I enjoyed watching them. I started to love them, and I started to make my own scary stories. I also loved reading the book “Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark” when I was 7-8 and It inspired me to read, see and create more horror content. My very first scary story was called “Missing Shoe.” I wrote it in the beginning of seventh grade, and it took me less than three days.
I started thinking of “Master of Puppets” in the beginning of 2022 and I started to write the story in 2023. During that time, I also had a good friend named Khalil. He saw me write the very first sentence of my story. I first wrote “Master of Puppets” in my notebook and Khalil was the first one to see it to completion. Khalil made me lose my shyness about sharing my stories to other people.
After him came my boyfriend Javier, and my boyfriend was the first person to see me type up my story on Google Docs on my computer. Other than Khalil and Javier, my uncle David was also there with me on my story and helped me published it. Khalil helped me lose my fear of sharing my stories, my boyfriend helped me feel good about myself and my writing and my uncle helped me see that I can accomplish things even at a young age. I thank the people who were there for me.
I hope to be famous one day and hope that the people who helped me rise in fame as well.
From the Amazon description of my book: Kayla, Caleb, Charlie, Ein and Katie are a very close friends group. A new student named Loona becomes friends with this group in the beginning. They are all in ninth grade and were all hanging out like normal friends do. Suddenly, some things started to change. Things got a bit uncomfortable and spooky. They all started to face their fears and challenges in a very satanic way throughout the story. At the end they come across a demon, and they try to fight it with as much power as they have to send this demon back to hell. During this process although, someone in their group gets captured by this demon at the very end. Will there be a continued story after this or will this be the end?
