“Red Queen” written by Victoria Aveyard, is the first book of an amazing soon-to-be series that everyone should read.

Red blood or silver? That makes all the difference in this world.

That is how this government operates. If you are a red blood you are a slave; a worker for the silver blood. Once a person turns 18 years old, they are forced to go to war and fight a battle that may never be won. The only ones who don’t have to go to war are the apprentices, but there are only a few of them. If you are a silver blood, you live a charmed life. Not only is your life handed to you on a silver platter, but you are born with a special ability. Some can control fire, some water, others metal and some can even search your mind.

Mare, sadly, wasn’t a silver. She lived her life pick pocketing to make ends meet and lives in the shadow of her younger sister who is an apprentice. One day something extremely unimaginable happens. She meets a stranger who changes her life forever.

This book is a page turner – from the first page to the last. “Red Queen” is full of betrayal and action that is just incredible. “Red Queen” stays fast-pace through the entire book, which makes it very hard to put down.

The best part was the ending, because it was completely unpredictable. No one could come close to guessing what would happen.

This book deserved its title of 1# New York Times best seller, and it doesn’t disappoint any book lover. It will definitely leave you wanting more. This book is probably one of the best books that you can ever read and the only thing bad about it is that the sequel doesn’t come out until February. You’ll be dying for the next book after you finish this one.

“Red Queen” is an amazing book and deserves to be put on any dystopian lover’s book list.
