A new Jordan Store is about to open Downtown, Chicago, but there is a new one that opened on May 15 of 2015 in Woodfield Mall called Flight 23. It’s a combination of Jordan’s and many other sport brands like Nike, Adidas, Asics, Reeboks etc. Footaction and Flight 23 are located in the upper level on the JCPenney wing and it’s open Monday through Friday and during the weekends as well.

Eduardo a worker at both Footaction and Flight 23 is happy they have a Flight 23 and Footaction in the area he said “Footaction is a reflection of the urban youth culture as Jordan can be considered as urban fashion”. He also went on and stated that there are only 4 stores in the United States that being Chicago, New York, Las Vegas and and Woodfield Mall.

“I think it’s going to be awesome for everyone and the city of Chicago” Nathan Zamudio a senior at Palatine High School said. It fits the city of Chicago perfectly because of course Michael Jordan played here and brought a lot to the table.

Bringing a Jordan store to Chicago means a lot. Nothing better than having one here where his career started and where he ended up winning his 6 and final ring with the Chicago Bulls.

Nathan Zamudio on being asked on what he expects from them “I expect all types of Jordan’s, customs, rare, retros and all the newer released sneakers” he also mentioned and hopes prices are fair and not high like some people resell retros now a days.

Roaming around Palatine High School and a lot of people wear Air Jordan’s. They have become lately really popular more than what they use too. They have also been priced higher ranging from $150-$180 when they used to retail for $65 but of course that was when kids and adults wanted to be like mike, now it’s all about fashion.

“It’s an excellent way to look at it because it brings shoes lovers together” Kyle Kuylen another senior at Palatine High School told me, you can’t really expect a lot when Air Jordan’s are being released every month “maybe new material on some shoes would be nice”.

Michael Jordan himself is proud of opening a Jordan Store in Chicago he told Scoop Jackson and Darren Rovell who work for ESPN. The store still doesn’t have a opening day but it’s set to open later on this year and to be named after his address. Many Flight 23 stores have been popping out lately and Woodfield Mall has one who just opened last month they are also a all Air Jordan Store but a smaller retailer.

The great Michael Jordan, the number 3 pick in the 1984 draft class from North Carolina. His shoes made him fly according to spectators. Air Jordan’s have been around since 1984 since Michael’s rookie season. He wasn’t allowed to wear them because they violated the NBA rules in the 1980’s, but of course he still wore them getting fined $5000 every time he wore them. Now, Air Jordan’s are everywhere footlocker, champs sports, finish line etc, everyone wants to be like mike, Including myself.
