Starting the Fall of 2018, students in District 211 will have a new app installed in their iPads called the Student Readiness Plan.

In efforts to promote the Power 15, the district has designed an app which allows students to plan their years in high school toward career pathways.

“It focuses on goal setting, it focuses on career pathways, it focuses on student involvement,” said Director of student services, Dr. Fred Rasmussen.

The Student Readiness Plan will cover five elements; academic readiness, college and career, student involvement, student wellness, and global competitiveness.

Starting freshman year, students will be able to see all the courses available at PHS to create a guideline of what classes they would like to take.

Progress reports regarding grade point average, athletic involvement, activities, and community involvement will be available to students throughout the years. To see academic performance, students will be able to instantly pull up a snapshot of their grades.

Links to Schoology are also incorporated into the app as well as resources for students to look through. They will be able to learn more about college credit, involvement, and ultimately the goal of Power 15.

“That’s how we’re going to help students understand the Power 15 and stay engaged in it and continue to make progress to it,” said Rasmussen.

The app that contains a four year plan component that will hopefully encourage students to meet certain standards that will help them post graduation. From being able to track Advanced Placement and Dual Credit courses for college credit, to linking Career Cruising to find potential universities, student will have everything available at the tip of their fingers.
