As Palatine High Schools Students have fun, they write song requests for what they want to hear.

As the freshmen entered the school parking lot, they were excited, but nervous because they didn’t know what to expect for their first homecoming dance. But after entering the school’s doors, the freshmen got more and more intrigued just from hearing the sound of the bass in the main gym.

Palatine High School’s class of 2019 attended their first Homecoming. As “newbies,” they seemed to fit right in. On Oct. 9 and 10, the freshmen had the experience of a lifetime.

For freshman Lauren Henning, the normal picture traditions felt awkward, but when she went to take pictures with her date, her feeling changed.  “I had a blast.” She said,  “I felt sad towards the end of the dance because I knew it was almost over. I would definitely go again!”

“The atmosphere of the dance was amazing,” freshman Lola Andalon said. “I would definitely go again-next year.”

From time to time, a slow song came on and one would find most couples slow dancing. That’s the time the other kids would go back and finish their Famous Amos cookies and water.

When Sunday morning came, these freshmen were really sad, but look back fondly at their homecoming experience.
