The NFL playoffs are set to continue into their conference championship games this weekend, and the hype surrounding them is reaching an almost unforeseen level.

Last week, the Minnesota Vikings beat the New Orleans Saints on a breath-taking 61 yard touchdown from wide receiver Stefon Diggs to put the Vikings ahead 26-24 as time expired. The Philadelphia Eagles beat the Atlanta Falcons 15-10 thanks to a last second end zone drop by star receiver Julio Jones.

To add to the craziness, Blake Bortles led the Jacksonville Jaguars past the Pittsburgh Steelers 45-42 in a high scoring shootout, with rookie running back Leonard Fournette scoring 3 touchdowns on the ground. And the Patriots won over the Titans in a 35-14 beatdown in Foxborough.

“Those two games were some of the craziest playoff games I’ve seen in a few years,” said senior Jack Whisler.

Next week in the AFC the Patriots take on the Jaguars at home, while the NFC championship is seeing two backup quarterbacks face off, in Case Keenum for the Vikings and Nick Foles for the Eagles.

Although the Patriots are seen as a heavy favorite, the Jaguars tremendous defense and improved play from quarterback Blake Bortles gives hope to down the reigning champions.

These upcoming conference championship games are set to be some of the most exciting matchups yet
