The Pirates easily defeated the Mustangs last Friday with a 41-13 victory. The rain clouds were back again, but nothing could’ve stopped this game. With running back Cam Cornelius (15) and a strong offensive line, it was smooth sailing for the Pirates.

Within the two minutes of the first quarter, Cornelius drove the ball to goal for a Pirate touchdown. PHS soon had possession of the ball again and with a pass to number 11, Joey Roy, the score was 14-0 Palatine. The Pirates stopped every Mustang attempt to score and the score at the end of the first quarter was still 14-0 Pirates.

The start of the second quarter brought with it more rain, but with no lightning warning, the game went on. The Mustangs made a successful drive and brought the score to 14-7 Palatine. Number 1, Cornelius made it look easy with two tireless touchdowns to even further widen the score gap. The Mustangs tried to come back with a score, but failed to win the extra point. The score before halftime was 27-13 Palatine

The Mustangs couldn’t rally after halftime and could only watch as both QB Orlando and RB Cornelius made their respective drives in the third quarter. Satisfied with their 28 point lead starting the fourth quarter, the Pirates ran the clock. An easy win for the Pirates, the final score Friday night was 41-13 Palatine.
