Slideshow: Visiting the University of Minnesota

The first place that we visited, and where the visit started was Northrop Auditorium which was built in 1928 and got recently remodeled. This is where most performances happen on the campus like comedy shows, concerts, dance performances, and many more.

When I first arrived at the University of Minnesota on Oct 9th, I didn’t know what to expect, even though I had gone through the virtual visit around 5 times. But as soon as I went there, the trip to the U of M quickly became my favorite places I’ve ever visited, to the beautiful city and even Goldy the Gopher made me want to come here for college.

Malik Rasheed is a senior at Palatine High School. He is motivated by his parents who he says push him to be his best and he is striving to find his own path. Rasheed said he picked the Journalism class at PHS because he is considering it as a potential career path in his future. He is a very social person as he is not afraid to strike up a conversation with those around him and he is active in his school running track, doing photography club and formerly doing eSports. Rasheed is also an avid hip hop fan and his favorite artist is Tyler, the Creator, whose new album gives a “90s type of feel.”
