Chicago, the city known for the dream teams and the legendary players, from the great Walter Payton to Michael Jordan to Mr Cub Ernie Banks. But, there’s a new buzz around the city of Chicago, it’s not the Chicago Bulls or the Chicago Bears it’s the Chicago Cubs.

They have been bringing fans to their knees since spring training and have continued to do the same during the regular season and hope to continue this through the month of October. It’s easy to ask any Chicago Cubs fan what they think of the Chicago Cubs this season and already know what they are going to say. So, why not ask non Chicago Cubs fans what they think?

Junyeong Oh a senior in Palatine High School who is a diehard Chicago White Sox is “amazed” by the success the Cubs have had this year. Oh said “though a Sox fan, as a Chicago citizen. I am proud of this team and how they are doing so well.”

“Jake Arrieta is god right now, he is walking on earth and we don’t even notice it” said Oh “the young players are pitching and hitting like it’s too easy for them.” Oh finished up the interview stating “hitting 6 home runs during the postseason and doing it against the St Louis Cardinals is beyond impressive,” he said.

The Milwaukee Brewers are another team that plays in the same division as the Chicago Cubs who didnt have the year they wanted finishing in fourth in the toughest division in baseball that being the NL Central. Brian Rehm a senior also in Palatine High School, is also “surprised” by the Chicago Cubs this season, Rehm, who is a Brewers fan, said “Cubs had a very good season. However, the inexperienced will catch up to them” Rehm also ended up finishing the interview saying “the Cubs should be in good shape in the years to come.”

Austin Espinoza a senior at Fremd High School isn’t a fan of the Chicago Cubs or a fan of baseball pretty crazy right? But, he has been following the Chicago Cubs during the postseason he also stated “the cubs definitely made a name for themselves this year and I hope they can do this every year”. He also hopes they beat the New York Mets in the NLCS. Espinoza also stated “no matter what the outcome for the Cubs this season and postseason I give them full respect on what they managed to do.”
This coming from someone who doesn’t pay attention to baseball and the Cubs is amazing. The whole city of Chicago is buzzing with excitement about the young slugging Chicago Cubs. As a fan of the Chicago Cubs always remember to “Fly The W” and remember “We Are Good” no matter what other people think of the Chicago Cubs we love them and enjoy watching them no matter what.
